August Funding Spotlight

August 10, 2014 in Community Issues, Latest Articles, News, Opportunities, Other, Uncategorized

FunMeFit regularly runs funding searches to find grants that are suitable for grass roots sports clubs, community groups and healthy activity groups. Because we are a ‘community focused business’, we intend on providing a weekly article on a particular fund that could support our members activities.

We have the latest NCVO trust book that lists the most up to date funding streams in 2014. Of course competition is high, and often funds can be oversubscribed, but don’t be under the illusion funding is scarce.

In fact since the success of the Olympic 2012 games many trust funders have added sport and health themes to their funding programmes as part of the Olympic legacy. After all sport is not just about the actual participation, but strengthening communities, increasing physical activity and a whole raft of social benefits.

So keep coming back to the website and check our latest news and updates – you don’t want to miss out. Of course, if you want a more detailed funding service– please get in touch with us and we will see how we can help you.

AUGUST FUND SPOTLIGHT

Funder: Neil Hudgell Solicitors Trust

Fund title: Grants for grass roots sports groups in the community

Open: Deadline is 30th September 2014

For this particular fund you will need to identify that your project inspires sporting endeavour, educational projects in deprived community settings and supports grass roots sport and community objectives.

You can apply for up to £2,500. What FunMeFit really likes about this fund is its simple application procedure, rolling deadlines and themes around funding grass roots sports at a neighbourhood level. The funding is open to all community and voluntary groups in Yorkshire.

If you are considering applying for this fund pay particular attention to not just the direct benefits the money would bring your group, but the indirect benefits it will bring to your players, users etc. For example think about things like increased confidence, increased physical activity – contributing to health, learning a new skill (inspiring education).

FunMeFit can help you to apply for funding. If you are a paid member of FunMeFit we can offer telephone advice, or you can email us should you have any queries as part of your membership. This starts from £20 a year – representing excellent value for money – for more details check here http://www.funmefit.com/directory/join

For further information on the fund please go to the Neil Hudgell Solicitors Trust website where you can download the straightforward application form and accompanying guidance notes. http://www.hullandeastyorkshirecommunityfoundation.co.uk/grant/show/11?category=Grant+Programmes

Promote yourself on our new Directory!

June 15, 2013 in Community Issues, Events, Latest Articles, News, Opportunities, Other, Uncategorized, Website Updates

It’s been a busy year so far for FunMeFit but we’ve finally managed to launch our new directory for members to add their businesses and services to. The best part is, it’s free for a basic listing.

We’ve been planning to directory now for about 2 years and once we told Foster and Scott (our lovely web designers) about it, they thought it was a brill idea!

The idea of it and of the FunMeFit community in general is that it helps to bring the community together in one place where the great work that many of our members do can be recognised and promoted.

The launch of our new directory means that all of our members can now list their business or services or clubs in a place where visitors to the website and other members can search for them by name, area or category.

As we can’t keep running FunMeFit without generating any revenue, we are also offering promotional packages for businesses that join the directory. If you want to list your business/group/club/service for free, that’s great but if you want to receive special features such as your own promotional page, a gallery of your images, your own contributors blog and an offers section that feeds through to our homepage then go Premium! We’re offering great rates and a lot in return. By upgrading, you’ll also be helping us keep FunMeFit going!

You can see what the packages have to offer here

“We’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported us through think and thin, everyone who has joined and offered their support and a big thank you to those who are spreading the word about what we do.

Keep telling your friends, family, sports clubs, neighbors, contacts and whoever else you can think of about FunMeFit because we want to expand the community so that it’s a really useful place for everyone to connect and discover what’s on in their community”.
